You can download the Full Tilt Poker client for free on Full Tilt’s website. Because it’s only about 7 MB big, it shouldn’t take long regardless of what sort of internet connection you have: on a 56k modem, it takes about 1 minutes to download, but if you’ve left the stone-age behind, you ought to get it in 1 minute (over a DSL) or a few seconds over a cable connection. Once downloaded and installed, the client should run fine on just about any machine. The minimum system requirements read Pentium 200 MHz, Win 98 SE, 64 MB of RAM and about 15 MBs of hard disk space. In order to enjoy the full experience, it is recommended that you have a 300 MHz Pentium of faster, 128 MBs of RAM, Win 98 SE or XP and 20 MBs of disk-space. System requirements shouldn’t pose a problem to anyone these days, the client has been especially created to run on just about anything.
If you’re browsing with Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, installing the program will be a piece of cake. Just click on the download link and select ‘run’ or ‘open’ in the pop-up dialogue. That will not only download the software, once it’s all on your computer, installation will start automatically too. All you need to do from there on is to follow the directions and click through the confirmation dialogue the setup wizard provides. Once you’re done, you’ll have to double click the Full Tilt Poker icon on your desktop to start the program, or you’ll be able to run it from the start-menu. Once started, the client will automatically connect to the Full Tilt server and load the lobby.
If you’re using Netscape or some other browser for surfing, click on the same download button, select ‘save as’ and pick a location on your computer you’ll find easily. Download the install kit there by hitting the ‘save’ button, open up the folder and double click the FullTiltSetup icon to begin installation. The setup wizard will guide you right through the setup process. If you’re unable to find the FullTiltSetup kit after download, use your Windows’ Start->Find->Files or Folders feature and type FullTiltSetup into the search field to find the file. Once installed, double click the Full Tilt Poker icon on your desktop to start up the client.
